Frequently Asked Questions
FAQs for Employers
Over 1000 students registered for last year’s Career Fair. All students register for the event in advance so that we can estimate attendance numbers. As the date of the fair gets closer, feel free to contact Hanna Chipman ([email protected]) for a closer estimate.
You need not be hiring immediately to attend the event, however, you should be planning on hiring in 2023 (jobs or paid internships).
All recruiters must register in advance. Please click on the Registration and Fees tab to register.
Payment for the Career Fair is by credit card only, which you can submit during the online registration process.
Payment is done through a credit card on Simplicity. You will receive confirmation and a receipt once it is processed.
All Ivy staff will be available at a virtual help desk for employers if any questions or issues come up. More details will be provided closer to the event date.
The employers will have two ways in which they can interact with students:
One-on-One Sessions: For company representatives attending the fair and marking themselves available for individual chats, there will be a student queue generated and each representative can then select students and begin a timed one-on-one chat.
Group Chats: This feature could be the best opportunity for you to reach a larger number of students and minimize redundancy. You should set up your own schedule to optimize larger info sessions, and we will advertise the schedule in advance.
We recommend that at least one recruiter is available the entire day to chat 1-on-1 with students. The private chat function will automatically queue up students based on the order that they signed up once the recruiter sets the status to “online”, so if a recruiter needs a break then they can switch to "busy" mode which will pause the queue and inform the students on the list that the video calls will resume after the recruiter returns. Recruiters leaving the Fair entirely should then set their status to “offline.” This tells the system you are not returning.
FAQs for Students
All students must register in advance (click on the Registration and Fees tab to register). There is no cost for students to attend the fair. Students are encouraged to register as soon as possible to ensure they receive all communications regarding All Ivy events, job opportunities and interviews, and instructions on how to participate in the virtual fair.
This is a professional opportunity, so please dress accordingly. Students are advised to dress in professional attire. Students should look presentable and avoid wearing clothing with several patterns as that may be distracting on camera.
Definitely upload your resume to the All Ivy Resume book! Recruiters will use the Resume Book to invite students to 1-on-1 chats during the fair and will have access to review resumes after the fair.
To prepare:
- Review participating employer information.
- Visit employer web sites to learn more about them.
- Determine which organizations you want to target at the fair.
- Come prepared with questions for the recruiters.
